Brittany

The region of Brittany or Bretagne in French is located on the peninsula, that extends about 150 miles into the Atlantic, in the extreme north west of France and separates the English channel from the bay of Biscay.

Tourism:

Beaches and Boating, It has unspoilt white sandy beaches and soaring cliffs attracting many tourists every year. Some of the finest beaches are at Carnac, Quiberon, Saint Malo and Dinard. Sightseeing: Carnac is also to some of the world's most important megalithic sites. Brittany is also known for the calvaires - elaborately carved sculptures of crucifixion scenes found in churchyards of villages and small towns, especially in Western Brittany. You can also visit a various number of intact manors, chateaux, old fortified town (ie St Malo,Dinan). Festivals: Numerous festivals like the festival of Lorient in August will expose the regional folklor, traditional costumes, celtic music and language that make it a really special region.

Wine & Gastronomy:

Renowned for its Cider, Chouchen, Lambis, Galettes (very thin wide pancake made from buckwheat flour filled with meat, eggs, cheese etc..., Crèpes, Kouiganman (butter cake), fresh seafood as oysters and fish of all sort.
